1. Ukraine’s $1,000 Air Defender
Ukraine’s Skazhenyy interceptor is entering the expanding market for low-cost drones designed to hunt Russian UAVs, with a daytime analog version priced at UAH 43,500—roughly $1,000—and a nighttime digital model at UAH 104,000 ($2,300). Those prices place it far below conventional surface-to-air missiles and make mass deployment economically plausible against Shaheds and reconnaissance drones, provided production, detection networks, and trained crews can scale alongside it.
2. Terminal Autonomy Pushes Mid-Strike Warfare to 500 Kilometers
Ukrainian manufacturer Terminal Autonomy has unveiled two loitering munitions designed to turn the space behind Russia’s front line into a permanent hunting ground. The codified AQ180K carries an 8-kilogram warhead up to 140 kilometers, while the larger AQ400 promises a 60-kilogram payload and a 500-kilometer range—enough to threaten command posts, ammunition depots, air-defense systems, and logistics hubs across occupied Ukraine and well beyond the border.
Both use satellite communications, AI-assisted terminal guidance, and optional optical navigation to continue operating under heavy electronic warfare.
